N5API Repeater Page
Welcome to my repeater page. The N5API/R currently
operates on 441.300 with a positive offset of 5Mhz, and a PL tone of 146.2.
The repeater consists of a 50 watt Motorola Mitrek (turned down to around 10 watts.) The duplexer is a Cellwave mobile 6-cavity notch type, and the controller is an
S-Com 6K. The repeater has full battery backup, and will run for up to 8
hours on battery power. The repeater system is located near the center of
the University of North Texas Denton campus, and provides a fifteen to
twenty-five mile mobile coverage radius. Below are photos of the repeater
as it is currently configured.

A view inside the repeater cabinet. From
top to bottom: the controller, repeater radio, power supply, and backup battery. |

The antenna (the one on the left in this photo.)
You can also see the speakers for the clock tower's electronic bell system. |
|

The cabinet with the door on. To the left is another
repeater, and to the right is the electronic bell control for the clock tower. |

Coax running up to the antenna. (No, mine
is not the one with the blue CAT-5 tie wrapped to it!) The staircase
goes to the top of the tower where the antennas are. |

A cool picture of the back side of one of the
clocks.
These are located about half way up the tower. |
