N5API Repeater Page

Welcome to my repeater page.  The N5API/R currently operates on 441.300 with a positive offset of 5Mhz, and a PL tone of 146.2.  The repeater consists of a 50 watt Motorola Mitrek (turned down to around 10 watts.)  The duplexer is a Cellwave mobile 6-cavity notch type, and the controller is an S-Com 6K.  The repeater has full battery backup, and will run for up to 8 hours on battery power.  The repeater system is located near the center of the University of North Texas Denton campus, and provides a fifteen to twenty-five mile mobile coverage radius.  Below are photos of the repeater as it is currently configured.

A view inside the repeater cabinet.  From top to bottom: the controller, repeater radio, power supply, and backup battery.

The antenna (the one on the left in this photo.)  You can also see the speakers for the clock tower's electronic bell system.

The cabinet with the door on. To the left is another repeater, and to the right is the electronic bell control for the clock tower.

Coax running up to the antenna.  (No, mine is not the one with the blue CAT-5 tie wrapped to it!)  The staircase goes to the top of the tower where the antennas are.

A cool picture of the back side of one of the clocks.

These are located about half way up the tower.
